Farmed salmon is one of the most eco-efficient and sustainable forms of protein available. With a low carbon footprint, high protein retention and efficient feed conversion ratio, farmed salmon can contribute a healthy- and climate-friendly protein source to the world’s food needs.

As part of our commitment to transparency, all GSI members publish key environmental and social data across 15 indicators per company, per region, annually. Using the ASC Salmon Standard as our benchmark, the report documents our progress towards the highest levels of sustainability.

ASC Certification
As GSI members we have chosen to use ASC certification as our reference point for progress in our sustainability performance. The ASC certification is widely recognized as the most rigorous assessment of responsible aquaculture, and we are committed to achieving 100% certification. Nutrient Profile
Farmed salmon is a wholefood rich in essential nutrients, including high-quality protein and healthy omega-3 fatty acids. The nutrients in farmed salmon support optimal health and prevention of a range of diseases.
